it really depends more on what your skin tone is, whether you can wear orange, or pink. most people's look good in one, and lousy in the other, reardless of how dark/light their skin may be. what clothes look best on you? the lipstick that will work will be similar tones. pay attention too to warmer vs. cooler colors.
It's easy to pick a good colour -- just look at the colour of your lips! That's going to be the *very* best colour for you. Don't stray very far -- maybe one shade lighter to one shade deeper. That's probably going to be kind of a rosy brown/tawny colour.

Just try out a nice light pink lipstick... but not bright neon pink, keep it natural

Try Loreal's ';Naturale'; line.. (I think that's what it's called). I got one of theirs in Tawny.. creates dimension before you put on the gloss haha.
